GREEN BROOK, NJ-Sheriff Edward V. Rochford - who plans to retire at the end of this year - recently endorsed businessman and Reagan Conservative David Larsen as the Republican candidate of choice for U.S. Congress.
"There is no question that Dave is a man of humility and integrity," said Rochford. "His long and successful career in business - coupled with his deeply held conservative principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility - fill me with confidence that he will faithfully serve the people of the 7th District and the United States. His strong support for local, county and state law enforcement is an encouraging sign that better days are ahead for our district and that the security of our nation will be enhanced by his presence in Washington, DC. I enthusiastically support David Larsen for Congress.
On Feb 10 of this year, Sheriff Rochford endorsed Sierchio as his successor: "John Sierchio has always been a stand-up guy. He's a cop, I'm a cop. And I think it takes a cop to understand how to run a law enforcement agency whether it's a sheriff's office or a municipal police department."
David Larsen shared that sentiment: "Sierchio's experience, along with his strong leadership skills and ability have prepared him to successfully maintain the standard of excellence established by Sheriff Rochford. He has proven himself to be a true fiscal conservative and deserves the nickname "Crusader" given to him by the Star-Ledger for his successful effort to root out fraud and corruption in the pension system. I believe that John Sierchio is the only candidate who can fill the "big shoes" of our beloved retiring Sheriff Edward V. Rochford."
